The ÚKaI Testing Laboratory was established on April 1, 2013, and accredited in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard on February 13, 2014.

The Testing Laboratory operates in two permanent facilities:

• Žilina site
• Bytča site

The ÚKaI Testing Laboratory focuses on performance testing of bearings and axle boxes in accordance with the technical standard STN EN 12082 +A1.

As part of cooperation with industry, the laboratory performs accredited performance tests using the TBRB 01 (Testing Bench for Railway Bearings) testing device.

The testing device is designed for testing bearings and bearing housings in accordance with the STN EN 12082:2017+A1:2021 standard. The test subject is an assembly consisting of a housing body, rolling bearings, sealing, and lubricant. The Testing Laboratory is qualified to perform accredited testing activities in compliance with the accreditation requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 within the scope of its accreditation.
